Addo Rest Camp
The popular Addo Rest Camp is situated within the Addo Elephant National Park, which is home to an incredible array of wildlife including 450 elephants! A unique feature of the Addo Rest Camp is its floodlit Nyathi Waterhole (Nyathi means Buffalo in Zulu) where you can admire the diverse assortment of Africa’s wildlife. You are most likely to see Cape buffalo, elephant, black rhino, black backed jackal, greater kudu, scrub hare and black headed heron. However if you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of the waterholes shyer visitors such us lion, spotted hyena, Cape grysbok, bushbuck, small spotted genet and bat-eared fox. There is a variety of accommodation options for guests to choose from, all of which are spacious and comfortable.
Accommodation:
Domkrag Guest House and Haproor Guest House
The guest houses each sleep up to 6 people, and are equipped with two bedrooms, en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, living room and fully equipped kitchen. Each guest house overlooks the floodlit waterhole and offers guests stunning views of the surroundings.
Chalets
The chalets can sleep either two adults and two children or three adults. Each chalet has two single beds and a double sleeper couch. There is a fully equipped kitchen and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. All chalets are air conditioned.
Two of the chalets have been adapted to facilitate paraplegic guests.
Semi-detached Chalets
The semi-detached chalets each sleep 2 people and are equipped with two single beds, an en-suite bathroom and a small kitchenette with a 2-plate stove, microwave oven, bar-fridge, crockery, cutlery and basic cooking utensils.
Cottages
Each cottage sleeps 2 people and is equipped with two single beds, en-suite bathroom and a small kitchenette with a 2-plate stove, microwave oven, bar-fridge, crockery, cutlery and basic cooking utensils. The cottages do not have air conditioning but do have a fan.
Rondavels
The Rondavels are favourably located, overlooking a floodlit waterhole. Each rondavel is equipped with 2 single beds, en-suite bathroom with shower, hand basin and toilet, air conditioning and fridge. The rondavel guests have access to a communal kitchen which has a four plate stove (no oven), crockery, cutlery and basic cooking utensils.
Forest Cabin
The forest cabin is comprised of a spacious open plan area furnished with four single beds, a table and seating for four people as well as a private en-suite bathroom with shower, hand basin and toilet. Each cabin has its own fridge and comes equipped with cutlery, crockery and basic cooking utensils to be used in the communal kitchen. Braai (BBQ) facilities are available.
Family Chalet
The family chalet can sleep a maximum of 6 people and is comprised of 1 bedroom with a double bed, a bedsitter area with two single beds and a double sleeper couch, an en-suite bathroom (with shower and bath), a fully equipped kitchen, and air conditioning.
Safari Tents
Each safari tent is situated alongside the perimeter of the park and is equipped with two single beds, bedding, towels, bar-fridge and fan. Communal ablution, braai (BBQ) and kitchen facilities are available for guests.
Camping
There are camp sites available for caravans or tents with a maximum of 6 people allowed per site. Caravan sites come equipped with power points as well as a wooden table and benches. Communal ablution and kitchen facilities are available for campers.
