Camping safaris

Camping Safaris:

Our Camping Safaris make use of 3-person dome tents with a height of 1.8m. You will spend each night on safari in one of these tents – all tents are equipped with Mosquito-screened windows and doors. In addition, we provide you with 5cm thick mattresses.

We make use of designated campsites either within a National Park, on the banks of a river or at other places of interest. All campsites have shared ablution facilities with showers, flushing toilets and running water (unless otherwise specified in the detailed itinerary).

Upgraded Camping safaris:

This type of safari offers 2 different levels of accommodation. Clients will spend some nights camping and other nights will be spent in Lodges, Tented Camps and/or Chalets. We make use of mid-range typical African standard lodge accommodation with most of them offering a private bathroom with a shower and a toilet, whilst others have shared ablutions. Some properties are equipped with swimming pools and/or bar areas!

Fully Upgraded Safaris:

Clients booked on this type of safari will stay in lodges, chalets and tented camps each night of their safari adventure. We make use of properties that have camping facilities as well as chalets, lodges or tented camps. This option gives the client the additional comfort of bedded accommodation.

There are three different styles of camping safaris in Africa , you can go on a semi participation mobile camping safari, a non participation mobile camping safari or a more up-market tented camp safari where you would usually do a flying safari from one tented camp to the next.

On all of our above mentioned camping safaris, the tour guide will be responsible for the shopping and cooking of all the meals. All clients booked on camping safaris, upgraded camping safaris and fully upgraded camping safaris will enjoy the same wholesome meals.
