Much international acclaim has been accorded to the Kruger National Park, famous for its diversity of wildlife. The members of the Big Five reside here in spectacular abundance, and most visitors manage to observe at least one pride of Lions or herd of Elephants during their stay.

Arathusa Safari Lodge: The enchanting Arathusa Safari Lodge lies within the northern part of the world renowned Sabi Sabi Sands Game Reserve, adjoining the unfenced Kruger National Park. The Lodge is famous for its huge concentrations of game, and guests are treated to an incredible wildlife experience!
 
10 thatched luxury suites each have a bathroom en-suite (with bath and separate indoor and outdoor showers), and a verandah for optimum enjoyment of the surrounding wilds.
Additional amenities include a mini bar (stocked with a selection of beverages), an electronic safe, hairdryer, air conditioning, mosquito net and tea/ coffee making facilities.  Fabrics are natural, the design simple and elegant. There are no telephones or televisions in the rooms at Arathusa. In keeping with the traditional safari experience, the bush is best experienced “al dente”. Guests are however able to make calls from the reception area, and to send or receive e-mails and faxes.

Day 1: Arrival at Arathusa Safari Lodge   
On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, make your way to the Bateleur Air Charter facility for your charter flight to the Arathusa airstrip. (Departure times may vary, please check before booking your international flights.)   You will be transferred to the lodge where you have the afternoon to settle in before embarking on a sunset drive, followed by dinner. Day 2 & Day 3: Arathusa Safari Lodge 
The next two days will be spent on game drives in an open safari vehicle, each morning and late afternoon in search of animals both large and small.  Experienced and personable rangers are coupled with local trackers. Together they ensure a first class safari experience. Arathusa prides itself on its’ leopard viewing. Approximately 14 leopards are found in the area in which Arathusa operate, 6 of which are seen on a regular basis.   Large herds of buffalo numbering in excess of 300 often find their way to the Arathusa lake. One need not move far to enjoy the safari experience! Elephants are also seen in numbers.   There are various lion prides in the area, as well as a few nomadic males. General “lowveld” game are abundant in this section of the Sabi Sand Reserve, including giraffe, zebra, warthog, impala and more. This region is a bird-watcher’s mecca. A continental breakfast is served buffet-style, while a cooked meal is served according to guests' preference from the kitchen. A sumptuous lunch is prepared by the chef, and served plated to guests directly.   Dinner is a 3-course affair on the deck overlooking the waterhole around a blazing fire (weather permitting). Day 4: Departure
This morning after a last hearty breakfast in the African bush, you will be transferred back to OR Tambo International Airport for your onward flight.  We hope to welcome you on one of our African adventures again soon. [B]
