Day 1: Johannesburg – Dar es Salaam - Arusha
You will connect to your flight to Kilimanjaro, in Dar es Salaam. Once you arrive at JRO, you will be met and transferred to your lodge in the lush forests surrounding the town of Arusha. As your arrival time, is in the morning, you will have an opportunity to explore the lodge grounds, take a dip in the swimming pool or partake in any of the wonderful additional activities that are available. Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park - Manyara
Your tour sets off after breakfast, with the first stop being the town of Arusha for some last minute purchases, before we head off on an exciting safari experience… We will travel towards the Tarangire National Park, where we stop for lunch and afterwards, our first game drive of the safari! Tarangire National Park is well known for its huge elephant population and baobab trees. It forms the centre of the annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephant, 25,000 wildebeest and 30,000 zebra. [BLD]

Day 3: Manyara National Park
After coffee this morning, we make our way towards Lake Manyara National Park for an early morning game drive. This spectacular national park is located at the north-western corner of Lake Manyara, a shallow soda lake, at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. Lake Manyara is not only known for its large flocks of flamingos, but also for the elusive tree climbing lions. We go back to the lodge for lunch and to rest in the heat of the day, before we return for an afternoon game drive in the park. [BLD]

Day 4: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park After breakfast we ascend the Rift Valley escarpment, towards the world famous
Ngorongoro Crater. A spectacular drive up the crater wall leads us to the entrance of this magnificent wildlife sanctuary, where we spend some hours exploring the floor of the crater. After lunch we leave the crater and head for the Serengeti National Park, game viewing along the way. We move further north towards Ikoma, to explore a different part of the incredible Serengeti. With more vegetation and permanent water, this area of the Serengeti is renowned for its resident (non-migratory) wildlife population. [BLD]

Day 5: Serengeti National Park
An early start as we go out for a game drive after breakfast in the Serengeti National Park. We return for lunch at the lodge and spend the afternoon on a game walk before we experience a night game drive, returning afterwards to camp for dinner. [BLD]

Day 6: Serengeti National Park – Lake Manyara
Today we retrace our route with a morning game drive through the Serengeti, followed by lunch, before we continue our game viewing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En-route we have the opportunity to visit Olduvai Gorge and the fascinating museum which documents the discovery of 1.8 million year old human-like fossils. [BLD]

Day 7: Lake Manyara – Arusha - Zanzibar
After breakfast, we explore the colorful town of Mto-wa-Mbu for some last minute photographs and curio shopping, before we return to Arusha where we will be able to have lunch (own cost). We then depart for Kilimanjaro Airport for our flight to Zanzibar and our resort which lies right on the beach, with its dazzling blue ocean. [BD]

Day 8: Zanzibar
After breakfast, you may choose to relax and soak up the sun or explore the famous Stone Town of Zanzibar, or any number of other optional activities. All activities in Zanzibar are for your own account. [BD]

Day 9: Zanzibar – Dar es Salaam - Johannesburg
After breakfast, you have some time at leisure to do last minute curio shopping or sight-seeing, before catching your flight to Dar es Salaam. Here you will catch your connecting flight to Johannesburg. [BD]
