Our Tanzania Cultural and Wildlife Safari is aptly named as it combines the perfect mix of Tanzanian culture and East Africa’s wildlife. Spend your days getting to know Tanzania – from the colourful ancient tribes to fantastic and rare animal sightings. After a day full of unforgettable impressions you will welcome the hospitality of your comfortable lodges which are so typical to East Africa.
This is a small group safari with all nights accommodated in either a lodge or permanent tented camp.

Day 1: Arusha
You will be collected from the airport and transferred to your lodge in the forests outside Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you will have an opportunity to explore the lodge grounds, go for a dip in the swimming pool or partake in any of the offered additional activities available. [D]

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park - Manyara
After breakfast the tour departs. First stop is Arusha Town for any last minute purchases before we head off on safari.
Afterwards we head towards the Tarangire National Park for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Tarangire is well known for its huge elephant population and baobab trees. It forms the center of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest and 30,000 zebras. [BLD]

Day 3: Manyara National Park
After coffee and breakfast we head towards Lake Manyara National Park for an early game drive. This spectacular national park is located at the northwestern corner of a shallow soda lake that it is named after, at the foot of the Great Rift Valleys western escarpment. Manyara is not only known for its large flocks of flamingos but also for the elusive tree climbing lions.
After lunch and a short afternoon game drive we head towards our lodge at Karatu on the foothills of the Ngorongoro Crater. [BLD]

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater & Conservation Area
After breakfast we head towards the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. A spectacular drive up the crater wall leads us to the entrance of this magnificent wildlife sanctuary, where we spend several hours exploring the floor of the crater.
After lunch we leave the crater and return to our lodge. [BLD]

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Lake Ndutu
After breakfast we head through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Lake Ndutu. Situated in the South-eastern part of the Serengeti ecosystem, Ndutu Safari Lodge is surrounded by indigenous trees and shrubs which encourage a host of birds and mammals to come right to your front door.
After lunch we head out for an afternoon game drive around the Lake. [BLD]

Day 6: Lake Ndutu – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast we game drive towards the Serengeti National Park. We arrive in camp for lunch and settle into our accommodation during the heat of the day.
As the mid-day heat draws to a close, we depart on an evening game drive before dinner. [BLD]

Day 7: Serengeti
Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is renowned for its annual wildebeest migration and large predator population. From February to May, a herd of over a million wildebeests migrates for the Western corridor of the park in search of greener pastures. Serengeti’s' other common animals include lions, leopards, zebras, Thompson gazelles, impala, Grant’s gazelles and buffalos. Most of the park is open grassland broken by isolated granite kopjes (hills) and patches of acacias woodlands. [BLD]

Day 8: Serengeti – Lake Natron
We make our way through the northern section of the Serengeti towards Klein’s Gate.
Here we leave the Serengeti behind and enter the Masai region of Loliondo. We make our way through this region toward Lake Natron and Ol Doinyo Lengai (“The Mountain of God”) – an active volcano which last erupted in 2007. [BLD]

Day 9: Lake Natron
We spend the day exploring this interesting area which is a haven for thousands of lesser flamingo's and is one of the most important flamingo breeding grounds on earth.
Activities include a walk to a nearby waterfall as well as a visit to Lake Natron to see the flamingoes. [BLD]

Day 10: Lake Natron - Arusha
After breakfast we make our way to Arusha where the tour will end at our offices. [B]
